NDIS Reform 2026

Deaf Australia is actively advocating for fair and accessible NDIS reforms that reflect the needs and rights of Deaf people. Through our systemic advocacy work, we monitor policy changes, engage with government, and amplify the voices of our community to influence outcomes. We are also seeking input from Deaf community members about their lived experiences with the NDIS including barriers faced, challenges within the system, and issues affecting access to supports.

By collecting first-hand experiences, we aim to build strong evidence and case studies to strengthen our advocacy for meaningful reform. This page shares clear, up-to-date information about NDIS changes, what they mean for Deaf participants, and how you can respond. Together, we aim to ensure the NDIS remains equitable, culturally appropriate, and inclusive - supporting Auslan users and the broader Deaf community to access the services they need to thrive, while keeping you informed with relevant updates and resources.
